24hr Swim Relay: Clevedon

What. A. Weekend. A glorious bunch of swimmers came together in Clevedon to take on a 24hr Swim Relay. 30 teams, each with between 3 and 8 swimmers, swam for an hour each through the rain, wind and cold from midday to midday. And all to raise almost £50,000 for 1-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities.

There was cake, plenty of it. There was an amazing playlist and even a couple of karaoke specials. There were twinkly lights to guide the way in the darkest hours. But most importantly, there was love and community shared by every single person. We saw people swimming with some nervous night swimmers, people lending each other goggles, hats, coats and even team mates, a pass by who ended up staying for the whole weekend and so many more beautiful stories. We were all in it together. So many hugs with strangers and so many memories that will last a lifetime.

And maybe, just maybe, some of the children we teach can one day join us there. I mean, the incredible amount of money you’ve raised will get many of them a lot closer.

Thank you all. So much.
